MOKA POT BREW GUIDE

MOKA POT

The Italian made, Moka Pot, is tiny yet produces a BOLD and strong espresso, without the heavy machinery and electricity. This is a go to when camping (or glamping) in the land of 10,000 lakes. Some may not like the very bitter and strong coffee that it produces (due to the fast brew time and high water to coffee ratio) but for those who do, they love this method.

You will need: Grinder, Moka Pot, Kettle, Cold Filtered Water, and Eagle's Wings BOLD3 Coffee (This special blend is designed for Espresso!)

Brew ratio: 20g of coffee (approx. 1.5 Tablespoons) to the amount of water needed to fill the bottom portion of the pot

Grind level: Fine (slightly coarser than a very fine espresso grind)

STEPS

1.) Grind about 20 grams (approx. 1.5 Tablespoons) of coffee (slightly courser than a very fine espresso grind). You will simply fill up the coffee holder to the full amount it holds. Fill the basket with coffee so it is level. Do not push down on the coffee grounds.

2.) Boil a kettle of cold, filtered water and fill the bottom half of your Moka pot with water right after boil.

3.) Put the coffee basket in place and assemble the brewer.

4.) Place the pot on low to medium heat, leaving the lid up. You do not want to boil water any faster as the brew process will go too quickly.

5.) Coffee slowly will appear in the top section. When you hear a gurgling sound, turn the heat off.

6.) Once the top section completely fills with coffee, run the base of the brewer under cold water to stop brewing.

7.) Pour your heavenly handcrafted coffee into your favorite mug. Ahhhhh, heavenly. Praise Jesus!

EXTRA TIPS: To get the best results with your Moka pot, choose a medium espresso (BOLD3 Eagle's Wings Blend), this will avoid overly bitter results.
